Consent Storage

SMS consent is stored with the following fields:

sms_opt_inBoolean consent status
sms_opt_in_dateConsent timestamp
sms_opt_in_ipIP address for compliance
sms_opt_out_dateOpt-out timestamp
sms_opt_out_reasonOpt-out reason (e.g., STOP)

Messages are only sent when sms_opt_in = TRUE and sms_opt_out_date IS NULL.

Detailed Opt-In Methods

1. Contact Method Form

  • Checkbox appears when phone type is selected
  • Unchecked by default (explicit consent)
  • IP address captured on submission

2. Signup Form

  • Checkbox appears when phone number provided
  • Unchecked by default (explicit consent)
  • IP address captured on account creation

3. Booking Form

  • Shows current consent status
  • Can update consent during booking
  • IP address captured on booking creation

4. Walk-In Check-In

  • Checkbox appears when guest phone collected
  • Unchecked by default (explicit consent)
  • IP address captured on walk-in booking

5. SMS START Keyword

  • User sends START to SMS number
  • System updates consent automatically
  • Confirmation message sent
